Kinabatangan River – The best place to see real wildlife in South East Asia!

The Kinabatangan River is the longest river in Sabah. It is part of the Sukau-Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary. It provides a unique and rich ecosystem and the concentration of wildlife in the lower reaches of the Kinabatangan River is remarkable.

Here you can spot rare animals like orangutans, proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, elephants, snakes, insects and many bird species, such as varieties of the king fisher and the hornbill.

Enjoy the Kinabatangan River, wildlife and rain forest at its best in Sabah, Borneo!

Timing of pick-up is subject to change according to traffic condition. All timings are estimated and for reference purposes only. Actual timing will be provided prior to your departure.
All reservation CANCELLED less than 48 hours or NO SHOW will be subject to 100% cancellation charge.
In the event of heavy rain, for the safety of our guests and staffs, we reserve the right not to conduct the boat rides.
In cases of natural calamities like flood, rain, land slide etc., NO REFUND will be given back to client(s) after the commencement of tour pick up.

Itinerary

1130hrs – 1200hrs: : Pick up from any hotel within Sandakan area. Transfer to Nature Lodge Kinabatangan. A brief stop at Kota Kinabatangan, the nearest town from Nature Lodge Kinabatangan, to buy drinks and take photos.
**Visit Gomantong caves.
1500hrs : Arrive at Kampung Bilit jetty. Transfer to Nature Lodge Kinabatangan, just 3 minutes boat ride across the River. Upon arrival, our friendly staff will greet you and a welcome drink and some snacks will be served.
1600hrs : Put on your life jacket and start river cruising along Kinabatangan
River in search for wildlife and birds-life.
1800hrs : Back to the lodge, a sumptuous dinner will be waiting.

After dinner, there will be a brief presentation on the wildlife in Kinabatangan area
and also the conservation programmed under taken by Nature Lodge Kinabatangan.
You may want to contribute on the Voluntary Conservation Levy-VCL (RM20.00)
which was initiated by WWF Malaysia and supported by the Kinabatangan-corridor
of Life Tourism Association (KiTA).
2000hrs : Your transfer will bring you back to your hotel within Sandakan, arriving at approximately 2200 hrs.
